How We Review
Every Magma TV guide on this site is based on hands-on testing of the documented build, currently version 1.0.9, on real Android hardware. This page explains the devices, the checks, and the standards behind the coverage.
Our Test Phones
We keep a small bench of phones that reflects what readers actually own, from a current mid-ranger to an older budget handset:
Samsung Galaxy A55 (Android 15), Google Pixel 8 (Android 16), Redmi Note 13 Pro (Android 14), Infinix Note 40 Pro (Android 14), and Samsung Galaxy A13 (Android 12).
Between them they cover recent and older Android versions, different processors, and the performance range where streaming apps either feel smooth or feel strained. Tablets, Android TV, and TV Box setups join the bench for the big-screen guides.
What We Check
Installation comes first: package size, permissions, and whether the XAPK installs cleanly. Then we test live channels across categories, movies and series playback, sports during real events, news, and kids content.
We record playback quality at SD, HD, and Full HD where available, data use per hour at each level, buffering behaviour on strong and weak connections, and how the app survives long sessions and warm devices.
Our Standards
We never describe a feature we could not find, and we update guides when a new version changes behaviour. File details on the download page are verified against the actual package before publication.
If something fails in testing, the guides say so and explain the workaround. Honest limits are part of the review, not an embarrassment to hide.
